Creditors want you to pay your bills as much as you want to be able to pay them. When you find yourself facing financial difficulties, contact your creditors right away. Often, creditors are willing to negotiate more favorable terms in order to help you avoid more serious debt problems. Creditors don’t want you to default on your payments; they want what is owed to them.
